My vision for Wattle Gum Homeschool is to empower Australian families to grow in their knowledge and confidence, especially through the use of rich literature.

About

Hello, I’m Erin — the heart behind Wattle Gum Homeschool.

For over 30 years, I’ve had the joy and privilege of homeschooling our ten children on our rural property in New South Wales. Our days have been shaped by stories, seasons, and the steady rhythm of home life. Through it all, I’ve found that rich literature, time in nature, and a deep sense of connection are the best foundations for meaningful education.

Wattle Gum Homeschool began as a way to share the resources, books, and ideas that have nourished our family’s learning journey. It’s also a reflection of my lifelong love of books. I’ve spent over 50 years collecting beautiful stories, quality non-fiction, and timeless Australian works. Now, these treasures are being opened up to help other families build a learning life that is both rich and grounded.

I know what it’s like to feel overwhelmed by choices or unsure of where to begin. That’s why I’ve created a curriculum, resource library, and book database that are gentle, flexible, and deeply rooted in both the Australian bookscape and classic educational wisdom. Whether you’re just starting out or refining your approach, my hope is that Wattle Gum gives you confidence and clarity—and that it brings joy to your homeschool days.

When I’m not reading or writing lessons, you’ll usually find me curating all things bookish in my library, out for a run, or enjoying a good book.

Thank you for being here. I’m so glad our paths have crossed.
